BIOGAS PURIFICATIONList element 4Biogas to B1 METHANE = Natural Gas. Biogas processing leads to pure biomethane, a clean fuel that can replace natural gas in all its common applications. Compared to traditional thermoelectric cogeneration, biogas processing allows access to a more efficient and higher value-added biofuel. SYSADVANCE is a leader in the gas separation and purification technology sector. METHAGEN units are high-efficiency systems based on VPSA technology that produce high-purity CH4, guaranteeing simultaneous recovery rates close to 99%. METHAGEN is a system designed to purify biogas from all possible sources: Landfill; Anaerobic sludge digestion in wastewater treatment plants; Food, organic municipal waste, and agricultural waste degraded in biodigesters. Purification is achieved by removing the main contaminants—carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nitrogen—and increasing the methane concentration to up to 99%. Pre-treatment to remove H2S and siloxanes can also be included. Available options for the METHAGEN system: CARBOGEN - CO2 purification unit, to be connected to the exhaust of the METHAGEN processing unit. It has the capacity to purify CO2 up to 99.9%. biOxygen - PSA or VSA oxygen generator, with a controlled injection system, for H2S reduction in the void space of the digester, biological scrubber, or activated carbon filters. This system replaces the air injection typically used, preventing biogas contamination with nitrogen (N2).

HELIUM PURIFICATION & RECOVERYIn the past, helium was a low-value resource. Today, it is a scarce resource with a significantly higher price. This situation demands solutions for helium recovery and purification. Recycling (recovery) processes alone are not an effective answer to this problem, since the purity of the helium is reduced with each use cycle, and it is released into the atmosphere when pollution levels are high. SYSADVANCE developed a helium purification and recovery system – HELISYS – using Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. These units guarantee very high purity and recovery rates, as well as a reduction in the costs associated with helium use.

DEOXOThe DEOXO purification system is based on the catalytic combustion of residual oxygen present in a gas stream (from a nitrogen or methagen system). The DEOXO system is designed to achieve high-purity nitrogen, methane, or hydrogen in the most efficient way. HIGH PERFORMANCE/COST REDUCTION The DEOXO system allows for the production of an ultra-pure gas stream (<10 ppm O2) (N2, H2, or CH4) with highly competitive energy consumption, even when compared to ultra-pure gas from cryogenic sources. DEOXO technology allows for a reduction of conventional PSA operating costs (OPEX) of more than 50%.
